Product Description

Starter risers are made of .75 inch thick Masonite backed with particle board. Available with wood veneer or primed white. The standard riser height is 7.5 inches. As this is a veneered product textures cannot be applied to this product, be sure to consider this when configuring your staircase. If you choose to add textures to your standard solid wood risers the starter riser will not match as it will be smooth.

When measuring a left starter riser the throat of the riser is determined by the width of your staircase. If you are unsure of the exact throat dimension it is best to order a narrower throat and cut the starter riser to fit in the field. Remember the tread overhang when measuring your starter riser, typical overhang is 1.25 past the riser. For example, if your starter tread has a turnout depth of 12.75 inches you will need a starter riser that is 10.25 inches in turnout depth as there is a 1.25 inch overhang on the front and back.
